# Please help! I'm new to house plants and picked this guy up at an…

Please help! I'm new to house plants and picked this guy up at an expo last weekend. All the little baby leaves turned yellow so I pulled them off (I don't know if I should have or not) but now the leaves also look like this. What should I do?? I did look for bugs but didn't see any!

What type of plant is that?

It's a philodendron mica

Looks like a powdery mildew of some sort. What location do you have it in? Philodendrons like humidity so consider a pebble tray or humidifier. I would go ahead to be safe and spray it down with insecticide soap then spray the leaves off, then treat with neem oil as a preventative measure. Also check your watering on it. I was suggest changing it into some new potting soil since you bought it from the expo, then I would use a self watering pot.

I spray it once daily and I did change the pot and soil so I will get a new self watering pot and get the soap. Thank you so much again!
