# What is wrong with my polkadot plant? Already lost one of her stems…

What is wrong with my polkadot plant? Already lost one of her stems and I’ve already tried to water her and I don’t know what’s wrong help and I just repotted her two days ago when she was looking a little sad and had just lost her first stem.

If you are watering based on the app, make sure that ALL of your information is present. Like pot size, soil type, etc. Otherwise you won’t have an accurate schedule. Is your plant in correct lighting conditions? Near a vent? Are you allowing it to dry between waterings?

It drys out completely before I water it and I don’t fallow the App at all and it is next to a window like 2 feet away and I have had it for 3 months

you're gonna want to use the app as a reminder, not a strict schedule. while having all the info entered, the app cant account for 100% of the environmental factors, which is why some people have had over/under watering issues when strictly following the app.

these plants like staying a little moist between watering, so i would either watch for signs of the plant needing water (such as wilting) or use the wood skewer/chopstick method! hope this helps :)

Takes awhile to adjust to transplant shock. Also these plants have shallow root systems which can be a challenge. Something to bear in mind when you choose a new pot, a soil blend, and how often and/or how deeply you water.
