Hey so I have an indoor rose, I just got it 3 days ago on Valentine’s Day. The day after I got it, it got really dry. I watered it yesterday but it looks the same. So I just watered it again. Plants says it has really high watering needs. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Alright so I’m going to give a warning first and then actual advice 😅 Okay my warning is: throw it away lol. I have had a mini rose bush indoors for 3 years and let me tell you. I’ve never worked so hard in my life to keep that thing alive. It’s name is thorn in my behind but I didn’t use the word behind lol It has died several times, super picky about a regular watering schedule and I have battled spider mites, fungus gnats, aphids and all the buggies. It seeks to attract them and definitely attracts death 😂 I also didn’t realize that they need a dormancy period in the winter so trying to keep it alive inside all year contributed to the frustration. It needs bright light, warm temperatures and a big pot. I put it outside in the summer and that thing pops OFF! (While attracting all the bugs again)

As for my advice, I would repot in a bigger pot if you can’t plant it outside. Check for root rot if you do. I have mine in a 10 gallon pot but for yours I wouldn’t go larger than a 3-5 gallon. Well draining soil and rocks in the bottom (thats what I do) because it’s super susceptible to root rot and doesn’t like being super damp. Also, it looks very crispy but even if all the flowers and leaves fall off, it’ll keep growing.

TLDR: Repot and make sure it’s well draining, check for pests big and small and maybe add some fertilizer.

Roses even have rose specific fertilizers and pesticides…. So yeah. Definitely a high maintenance plant even outdoors but inside sounds like a nightmare 😂.
