# Hi! I'm super new to plants, so I'm still learning. But what is wrong…

Hi! I'm super new to plants, so I'm still learning. But what is wrong with my money tree? I've only had it about 2/3 weeks, I water it about once a week, and I've only used a 3 in 1 neem oil spray on it when I brought it home.

These guys don’t need to be watered that often so once a week is definitely too much. Their big stems hold in water so they like to fully dry out before being watered again. I check the soil with a chopstick to make sure it’s dry all the way to the bottom, and even then I wait a couple more days to water it.

These are trees so they hold water in the trunks. I water mine maybe once a month and it’s grown 2 ft in the last couple of years.

They like bright indirect light and be sure to rotate the pot every once in awhile so it grows evenly.
