Need some advice: 🙏
I have a baby rubber plant, I left it with my grandpa and when I came back turns out he had it sitting in a pot full of water for six days. I drained the pot, removed the molding soil, and let the soil drain for a little bit, then I patted it with some paper towels and added some dry soil to the pot to hopefully absorb some of the water. Is there anything I did wrong or anything else I should do to help it?

Plants like gradual changes. Hopefully it will adjust quickly and not have issues. If it was doing good while in wet soil, while you transition it back, make sure there is some moisture there then allow it to dry completely in between waterings. I would recommend a 50/50 mix of water/peroxide at the next regular watering just to make sure the roots are properly oxygenated and to halt any issues.

Take it out of the pot and soil at the moment, soak the roots in hydrogen peroxide for 20-30 minutes, check for any rotted roots and snip them off, and repot back into the pot. The peroxide will kill any lingering rot or bacteria from the mold or risk of rot from sitting in the water for so long, and it’ll add extra oxygen to the roots to help it grow new roots. Mine love cactus and succulent mix. Avoid Miracle Grow’s soil as it isn’t well-draining enough for your plant. I use Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent Mix, but any non Miracle Grow brand cactus mix should do. Hope this helps.
