Even when you think the plastic pots you have purchased have enough drainage…. Think again!

Always add more or make the existing ones larger.

Perhaps try a more well draining soil like a chunky plant mix. These usually dry out faster. Peat can hold on to a lot of moisture

I agree, likely not the pot but too dense of a soil mix, I would at least add more perlite.
