# What kind of bug is this and could it have come from my plant or did…

What kind of bug is this and could it have come from my plant or did it end up there by mistake😭? I was spraying neem oil to help with fungus gnats and I look and see this bug in the sticky trap😭😭 Any help is much appreciated— thanks!

earwig 🥴 they eat dead plant matter and small insects and they’re kind of horrible to look at lol

I had several of them in my Curly Bonnie spider plant! It was creepy to watch the clan climb out when I watered. I flushed them out to bring the plant inside for winter.

They’re bad here this year. They do eat plants so I would not call them innocuous. They eat everything right down to the ground.
