I’ve had this plant for about a month. It’s started to get black at the ends almost as if it’s burning. Any thoughts?

First of all, it looks like there’s only a couple of inches of dirt in the bottom of the pot?  
Terra cotta will suck the water right out of the dirt. It looks REALLY dry.  
I’d be tempted to, very carefully, take it out of that pot and soak it in water for a few minutes prior to repotting in a similar size pot that is not terra cotta. With more dirt.

I agree with Gaileen. It looks dry. It also looks like a pet shredded it. Do you have cats?🐈 😹

Black tips indicate dryness! Always a tip to remember! So I agree with the above. Repot, more soil and water
