# Hi all! I have a question about a plant that I’m watching for my mom.…

Hi all! I have a question about a plant that I’m watching for my mom. I noticed that only one stalk(?) of her majesty palm was staying green but i hesitated to pull the other two off until now. Previously I had been cutting the dead leaves. Today I gently tugged on one of the dead ones and the whole bulb thing came out, and what I think were mealybugs were all over the bottom of it, the soggy part.

I just would like to know any tips on next steps. I wanna save the plant but I also am hesitant to do anything that might jeopardize my other plants. I can’t keep it outside because I think it’s much too hot in Phoenix right now.

Additional detail: I know it’s in much too big a pot. When I repotted it I checked the roots and they looked extremely robust and bound so upped the size by a little. Perhaps I didn’t notice that the roots weren’t great or maybe I watered too much, but I tend to underwater more than anything.
