Is he okay? Why is half of… _Samさんが2024-04-25に投稿しました_ My snake plant, Kaa, continues to vex me. Is he okay? Why is half of him droopy while the other half is mostly straight? Why is half yellow instead of green? Should I cut the dead leaves (they’ve been dead for ages but won’t come off if I pull gently). He’s been like this the entire time I’ve had him (about a year). How often are you doing that? When was the last time it was repotted? #### Samさんが2024-04-25に返信しました Watering every three weeks per the app’s suggestion. Last repotted Aug 2023. #### PortlyPothosさんが2024-04-25に返信しました When you water is the soil dry throughout? I often don’t water mine for a month unless I’m in the dead heat of summer. #### Samさんが2024-04-26に返信しました Hmm I’ll keep a look out for that but it’s usually pretty dry (top inch at least). Is it possible the “damage” could have occurred before I got the plant or am I actively doing damage now lol? #### Jayeさんが2024-04-26に返信しました If it was like that when you got it then I’m sure some of it happened before you but I also wouldn’t say that you haven’t damaged it 😅 I would recommend letting the plant dry out completely for about a month or a little more and seeing what happens. You might need to downsize the plant and get rid of the brown, squishy leaves but that’s better than losing the whole plant! I think you’re doing just fine and with the right care it’ll come back to life \<3 #### PortlyPothosさんが2024-04-26に返信しました Probably a mix. Go ahead and cut off any dead leaves. You can even cut off some of the unsightly leaves and cut them in chunks and prop them. I always wait to repot until they are warping my pot. #### Samさんが2024-04-27に返信しました lol so those off to the right that you see leaning out are actually coming from a bunch right behind the easily viewed bunch. So it turns out the at they’re actually not THAT close to the edge of the pot.
