It could be some type of fungus like botritis or blight. If it were a larger plant I would suggest removing the affected frond and treating the rest of the plant but since it's so young and has only one frond I don't know what to suggest.

How do you identify whether it’s fungus? Is it safe to treat for fungus if it doesn’t have fungus

sounds like Dr. Seuss but how to treat the fungus among us and what harm it if it doesn’t have fungus? I’m totally new to all this. Thank you very much.

It should not hurt to treat if it doesn't have a fungus. I would try that. Hopefully it will generate a fresh leaf. I think if you gave it some root stimulator that would encourage it to have more roots and give the plant more support. Lookout Theodore you have competition!

What types of anti fungal products are good for this palm?

I think I would start with a copper-based product. They should be available at your local garden center.
