It can be so hard to tell with just one little spot like this, but it doesn’t NOT look like thrips damage. (I recently dealt with an infestation of thrips.) Look out for little tiny black dots (their poop) especially near the damaged translucent areas - that’s a dead giveaway. Also keep an eye out for bugs and spreading of the damage!

Are you able to get another pic with the damaged leaf spot in the camera’s focus?
