# SOS!!! This plant as well as one other quickly (within 1 day)…

SOS!!! This plant as well as one other quickly (within 1 day) developed blackening on the leaves. I know it cannot be root rot as this plant hasn’t been watered recently and perked up after its last watering a little over a week ago. Next watering is in a few days. Also… new growth has appeared as this leaf has blackened?? Any ideas what could be going on?? TIA

Same. I’ve had mine for about 5 years and suddenly all the mature leaves wilted and dropped but now there is new growth that looks good. Idk 🤷🏻

That kinda looks like edema vs a fungus. Always remove these types of leaves incase it is fungus, as it's very contagious. Does the pot have drainage?

It does! Any recommendations on how to fix this? Does it spread easily?

The plant it started on does not have drainage… but I make sure to water sparingly

Really just water sparingly and well draining media. And moving it to a pot with drainage so the roots aren't staying wet so long. It's not a disease, so it won't technically spread. But it can continue to happen, especially on more humidity days when plants don't transpire as well
