So I got a Bird of Paradise on clearance because she's clearly having issues. I think it was under-watered and baking in the sun. Where do I start?

I would give her a good soak and make sure she gets humidity. Give her some quarantined tlc and see how she responds. Smell her soil… if you detect any stinky rotten then you need to look at the roots but I don’t think root rot will be the issue if she was under watered

Plants with Krystal, she has some good vids on them. Their leaves tend to rip when unfurling if the humidity isn’t high enough.

Thank you 😊

It can live in full sun. It doesn’t look dry from being under watered. It could be low humidity issues as suggested and/or being wind blown causing leaf splitting.

I would remove that mangled leaf since it’s wasting water and nutrients that could go to new leaves. Increase the humidity as suggested. It can live in direct sun or bright indirect sunlight.

Do you mean the leaf I'm holding?

Yes, it won’t repair itself. Plus, there are several other leaves for photosynthesis.
