# My basil was doing so well. But look at her now. 😢 What did I do…

My basil was doing so well. But look at her now. 😢 What did I do wrong? I used her leaves. They grew back. I pinched the flowers. Watered as regularly as I could (3-4x a week). And now she’s tall and scraggly.

Did you use the top leaves?

I’m about to use them now and do some gentle pruning.

We always use the top leaves to keep it bushy and shorter.
