# what's wrong with this fishbone cactus? my mom just took it home from…

what's wrong with this fishbone cactus? my mom just took it home from her office (bright light, watered every 2 weeks) and it looks... not good. is this caused by overwatering? should the affected stems/leaves be cut off? thanks in advance!

Most likely a watering issue. Is the soil dry when you water it?

I would probably take it out of the pot to check the roots and repot into a well draining soil if that's not what you're using.

You should treat this plant like a succulent for best results. 😊🪴

I just noticed there are roots coming through the bottom of the pot. You could size up a size on the planter you have it in.
