Got a bag of succulent soil a few weeks ago, re-potted a few plants. I come back to it to repot another one and it’s INFESTED with tiny bugs and a few gnats. Im so frustrated and stressed out, not quite sure what to do or how to handle this. I already took my plant out of its old pot and broke up the soil around its roots. Any advice?

If it’s just gnats you can get mosquito bits and make a “tea” with it. Tons of vids on YouTube. If you suspect more than just gnats you could get Bonide Systemic Control granules, sprinkle some in soil then water.

Also you could remove all soil from the plant spray roots with hydrogen peroxide, and repot in clean soil while treating the bad soil by pouring boiling water on it in a container to kill any surviving pests.

Thank you so much, I haven’t put the plant into the bad soil yet and unfortunately I do not have any other soil at this given moment. Would I be able to put the bad soil in boiling water and use it tomorrow?

I also have neem oil that I typically spray my plants with if I see any pests. But I’ve never ever seen this many especially in my bag of soil

You can use it once it cools down and dries out a bit so it’s handleable. Depending on how much water you add. I would only add just enough to get it saturated but not swimming in it.
