# Unfortunate but my False Aralia has mealy bugs and I’m just not…

Unfortunate but my False Aralia has mealy bugs and I’m just not dealing with it.

I noticed over the last week that it’s looked more dry and has been droopy but I thought maybe it was lack of sun (it’s been really rainy near me). Its watering has been good.

This morning I shook it a little as I normally do to release leaves that have fallen off, and I see one leaf looking like this. Did more checking and found them all over.

I wasn’t loving this plant anyway so instead of trying to treat, I threw it out lol annoying

Some of my happiest plant moments have been when I’ve said nope to an infected plant! Like my old xmas cactus with mealy bugs. Just no.

I’ve dealt with two other kinds of pests before. Saw these and was like nawwwww

Spider mites ate through one of my money trees and now I’m always checking for them 😂

I can’t say I blame you unless it was my absolute favorite plant I would do the same or put it outside which I actually did with a plant I thought had bugs but didn’t but she’s outside and doing way better then she was inside!! I live in FL and she’s a full bright light plant so yeah she’s thriving!! I hate bugs so yeah I would have done exactly what you did!!

Spider mites attacked one of my favorite plants and yeah I battled lol was able to save it so that’s great but this one, I was like “I’m just not dealing with it”

Just had my first experience with mealy bugs and it’s been quite the process to get rid of them so I completely understand!

Hope your plant(s) are doing well!

Thank you! Yes, doing good thankfully. It started with my string of pearls which I’m absolutely crazy about so I was willing to invest the time and effort.
