# Can anyone tell me why my philodendron is retaining moisture all of a…

Can anyone tell me why my philodendron is retaining moisture all of a sudden? I have had this plant for more than 2 years, repotted last year in plastic nursery pot with lots of holes, has been perfectly happy until now. 😕 Recently I watered it as usual and several of the leaves turned yellow. And the tips are turning brown.  
I keep getting reminders to fertilize but the soil remains moist. Any thoughts?

check for root rot. if so spray w hydrogen peroxide and water  
if not maybe soil mixture?
