Moroccan mint 🌿
Hey guys, she’s not looking too good and I don’t know what to do💔
I’ve washed off the aphids and keep pulling out these browning leaves. I spray her every day to keep her soil damp as instructed.
Is this mint rust??? Help🥲

I would cut off all of the stems back to the base and start over. :) mint will regrow as long as there’s roots

Chop it! The same happened to mine so I cut it all the way down, changed the soil and watered every day. Its back and it's soooo happy!

Thank you! 😊 Also would you consider changing the soil as optional? I’ve moved to a big city recently and even repotting here is so difficult 😣

Yes! If you don't have enough to re-pot sprinkle some fresh soil on top and do a peroxide wash in case it was a pest or fungus issue!

Remove dead or diseased growth.
Check the roots on your mint - it likes to strangle itself.
My mint never does great indoors.
Watering every day seems like a lot.

Mint are not fussy. They are treated as weeds in many areas because they spread fast. It’s better to let the soil almost dry out before watering adding and avoid daily sprinkles which can attract fungus gnats especially with the decay on top of the soil.

(My spearmint plant is in the photo. It faces southwest and is in full sun all day with a red yucca plant in an 18” wide ceramic pot. It has died back considerably because of the summer zone 9 heat. )

Clean off all the dead and dying stems and leaves from the plant and off the soil. It might completely die back in colder months.

Get the mint acclimated to very bright light. Full sun is best. A grow light close to the plant without burning the leaves is better.

Stop fertilizing when the growth slows or stops. Normal for colder months. Restart in spring.
