# Does anybody have advice on what my plant needs? It was fine last…

Does anybody have advice on what my plant needs? It was fine last week growing new leaves and living its best. About 4 days ago the leaves started turning yellow and dying. More pop up each day.

Since then we have changed the pot/added soil and made sure the base was not drenched. The leaves are continuing to turn yellow and die off.

To me this is a moody plant when watering gets inconsistent for even a day or two after going dry between watering or getting too much water. Since you’ve already intervened, unfortunately I think you’ll just need to wait and see. Water appropriately and make sure it’s getting the right light, food, and humidity in your environment.

Yellowing is often a sign of over watering. Was the soil moist around the roots when you repotted?

I agree that you’ll need to wait a couple weeks to give it time as many plants go into shock when they’re repotted. I’ve found them to be pretty resilient.

Which leaves are yellowing? Underwatering causes leaves close to the base to yellow and turn crispy, while overwatering causes leaves all over the plant to yellow and turn gummy. Cold drafts also cause leaves to go yellow and drop.
