I like to try and ID what might be a problem before I cut them off. Did this appear quickly or have these spots been developing slowly? It could be something going on with how the soil might be holding onto water

It happened suddenly. I put them in the sun, for a little too long; I noticed the spots when I brought them back inside.

This looks \& sounds to me like too much water in the soil. — the black color and the fact that it happened suddenly. Do you let it dry out before watering?

Bringing your plants back and forth in and outside can cause stress so I recommend just picking one spot and keeping it there.

Usually, I wait until the top inch dries.
I definitely need to stop moving them, though.
