# Help!!! This leaf on my Bird of paradise plant is really starting to…

Help!!! This leaf on my Bird of paradise plant is really starting to get brown and splotchy on the leaf and around the step. There appears to be a new leaf starting to unfurl at this leaf's base; should I cut this one off as a loss? Or is there a way to save it at this point?

It’s yellowing at the base. It likely an older leaf dying off. I would cut it off. It won’t recover the dry areas and it’s browning at the stem.
