# I’m about to take a risk lol :). Think it’s time to repot my rubber…

I’m about to take a risk lol :).

Think it’s time to repot my rubber tree, but it’s actively growing right now. The problem is, this was my first plant, and I forgot to put a plastic pot in the ceramic one when I bought it. So I’m assuming by the little guys poking out of the bottom that it may be getting slightly root bound.

Wondering if I should repot or leave it be until the end of summer? :)

I wouldn’t repot, the roots coming out of the bottom are likely just from the plant naturally reaching out to find another water source. To me it doesn’t look like it needs a repot at all, but I don’t think it would realllyyy hurt it if you did in fact repot it. :)

That would make sense, it does seem to drain fairly quickly :) hmmmmm given the fact that it’s been in the same pot for over a year and it’s still early spring(ish) I’ll repot and hope for the best. Thanks for the comment though :))

If it’s been in same soil for a year, I’d repot if I could. My poor crew is suffering because I haven’t been able to repot ANY of mine…not since 2022. I feel terrible about it but my time is getting too busy so I’ll have to cut back on my collection 😢

I’ve repotted now, though I may have overdone it with the perlite🙃better drainage I guess. Hopefully no one mistakes it for mould.

Looks so good and never too much perlite imo. You can usually revive if it’s under watered vs over watered. Thank you! My bantles wasn’t happy so she lost some leaves but I took what was left and stuck it in water. Nobody got time for that around this house sadly 😢

I am now battling Mealies so yeah this isn’t my year with them. I feel terrible! the money I’ve lost…but time with my mom is priceless. 🩵🩷

I have had to resort to beneficials and hope it works. I’ve lost too many to those annoying things! Ugh

How were the roots on your rubber plant? Were they full of soil or more roots than soil, if I may ask? 😌😉
