# Hey, my plant has been trying to push this leaf out for a month but…

Hey, my plant has been trying to push this leaf out for a month but hasn’t seemed to make any progress. I worry that there’s just not enough space right there. I water her enough but I haven’t given her fertilizer in a while. Maybe that’s why? Not sure if there is anything I should be doing to help.

This time of the year most plants tend to grow very slowly. It is about time to start fertilizing for the new spring growth so that would probably be a good idea.

Misting it might help.

Usually leafs not popping is a humidity issue. Mist it every 2-3 days. If it's been stuck for a month it may be a lost cause. In dire cases I have taken a wet warm paper towel and wrapped the emerging leaf for a few hrs. Then slowly massage it to break up adhesion. Sometimes it takes a few tries over several days with misting in between
