Calatheas are difficult and the most common issue with them is watering. They like to be consistently moist, but they also don’t like wet feet so they need to dry out quickly.

I ended up switching mine to semi-hydro (pon) and it’s finally starting to do better (it constantly had crispy leaves before). I’ve also heard people having luck with chunky soil but watering more frequently.
