# Does anyone know why my genovese basil’s leaves are narrowing and…

Does anyone know why my genovese basil’s leaves are narrowing and look like they’re shrivelling. I changed the wet soil recently and have had some fungus gnats in it before but it doesn’t seems like it has fungus and the roots didn’t look rotted when I repotted it a couple days ago.

It could inconsistent watering or pests. Check for aphids and tiny white flies under the leaves. Insect bites can cause the leaves to fold. Overwatering and under watering can do the same. 🪴🍀
