I purchased a snake plant and repotted it in the same nursery pot, but using a mix of succulent, orchid, and perlite. This was 4 days ago and the soil is still very wet. The reason I repotted it was because the soil was too wet when I purchased it. Do you think I should repot with a chunkier mix?

Where are you located and what size is the pot? What did the roots look like when you repotted it? All of this will help the community give you better feedback 😊🪴

It's in the plastic nursery pot. I have it next to the bathroom window, which gets indirect sunlight all day. The roots were fine but there was some mushy stuff I had to take off from around the bottom of the plant before you get to the roots.

Sounds like it had a bit of root rot so good job checking that.!!! These plants don’t like humidity, so the bathroom may be too “wet” for this particular plant.

What direction does the window face? If the blinds are closed like this, it’s not getting enough sun.

The pot looks like the right size. I would let it dry out 100% before watering. I’ve never used orchid bark with these plants. The two I have are always in a succulent/cactus mix.
