Why are big chunks of my Christmas cactus branches falling off (he is 10 years old and I’m really attached to him ) pls help 🆘

How often do you water? Are the leaves that are droping wilted at all or mushy. How much sun does it get? Have you fertilized.

I water 1 a week they are dropping (picture) it faces an east window and no I haven’t fertilized:)

Id try to increase the light. And give it some diluted fertilizer(and possibly some silica). They can drop from either of those. If the leaves are soft(overwatering), wilted (underwatering). But I suspect it just needs food and maybe more light. If you haven't refreshed the soil in awhile, it'd be good to check the roots.
