# I just bought this plant off of a FB group, I got 5 in total and this…

_Publié par Paige le 2024-08-24_

I just bought this plant off of a FB group, I got 5 in total and this one looks like the only one with a problem. I’m fairly new to plants so I wanted some advice on what this could be? Is it just from incorrect care or some disease/pest that I should be worried about spreading to my other plants?

Could just be some damage from water getting to the leaves (like someone watering it from the top and letting the leaves get wet, then letting it sit with said water on the leaves). Mine arrived with this on the backs but it was fine. Yours has a different patterning, though, so to err on the side of caution, I would check the roots. Clip the stem that lost that leaf as far down as possible. If the roots are light and firm, it’s probably alright. If it’s dark and mushy, it’s root rot. Lemme know if the roots are rotted and I’ll be happy to walk you through how to treat it.
