Help with my monstera !

Hi there!

So, I’m not super savvy with plants but greatly rely on the app and blogs to understand it better. My monstera has been growing well and really long, well over 7 feet in length but recently noticed the older leaves starting to turn yellow like the pics.
Can someone tell me what’s going on and what should I do? I used the Planta app to diagnose and it probably tagged it to an overwatering issue but I don’t think i ever over water it.

Also suggestions on maintaining/managing this beauty is much appreciated.

Thank you.
Genie

That is very nice! I wouldn’t be afraid to “give it a haircut” every couple of months so that you can train it, propagate it etc..

It’s very hard to tell just based on the size and number of vines it has but I’d recommend trimming it first, make sure it has above normal humidity (50-70%) and then in a couple months do a root check to inspect the roots! I hope this helps!

Thank you so much! So, the humidity meter says that it’s around 35%. I’m going to try increasing the humidity as well.

With regards to the leaves and that have turned yellow , I could just leave it as is?

You’re so welcome! Keep us posted on the progress \& as for the yellowing leaves you can either “leaf” them or cut them off to give nutrients to other parts of the plant. Your plant is soo big and mature you can cut a giant handful of cuttings and it wouldn’t hurt it a bit!
