# My Areca palm has brown tips on the leaves. I haven’t been watering…

My Areca palm has brown tips on the leaves. I haven’t been watering it a ton because each time I touch the soil it still feels moist. I repotted around a month or so ago and always make sure I empty out the tray beneath it after I do water. Please help!

Brown tips are often from using tap water. After a repot it can take awhile for the roots to fill the pot and you won’t have to water nearly as much because the new soil retains the moisture. The roots will eventually grow out to where the moisture is, just cut back on watering when potted up. However I would still mist/add humidity especially for a palm.
