Help with Dieffenbachia pls!

When I first got my dieffenbachia it was rather full, but now not so much, there doesn’t seem to be any new leaf growth and the current leaves have these brownish splotches that also have the leaves getting thinner and flimsier in those areas. Idk what to do any advice? Thanks.

I would take her out and check the roots for root rot. If I remember correctly they don’t like to be in wet soil but damp. Make sure she doesn’t need to downsize the pot for her.

Ok I’ll check. If there is root rot what do you do for that?

Remove any black and squishy roots. Spray with a hydrogen peroxide mixture. Then repot into a pot that is 1-2 inches larger then the roots

What about the leaves? Will they get healthier or will they just be like that till new ones come in?

They will just be like that. You can remove them

I agree looks like overwatering. The leaves won’t get better. I have the same dieffenbachia and I let mine dry about 75% in between waterings
