# Hi! I just bought this aloe from Aldi for $5 because I’m a firm…

Hi! I just bought this aloe from Aldi for $5 because I’m a firm believer in plants choosing me 🤣 however, he is looking a little sad. This is the first aloe I’ve ever owned, but as you can see in the background…it’s not my first plant. Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated!

Don't over water lol. There's very little else you need to worry about.

It’s been my experience — so it may not be the same everywhere — that big box stores tend to overwater their plants to oblivion. So echoing Tom above, maybe be cognizant of that and let it dry out a bit. See if that gets it to perk up. Maybe check the soil too to make sure it drains well enough!

Honestly I forget about them 🤣 they’re literally zombie plants

Make sure it came in a decent succulent soil. Again, don't overwater. They like plenty of light but if they're getting too much light or too much direct sun the leaves will look grayish. You wouldn't think this to be a problem with aloe but I have experienced it.
