# Help! What are these little white bugs crawling on my monstera? I…

_Pubblicato da Kirsten il 2024-09-14_

Help! What are these little white bugs crawling on my monstera? I only see them on the new leaf (which grew in kind of dead, not great), not on the other two that are original to the cutting I received back in April. I quickly did a spray of insecticidal soap, and hours later still saw a couple so gave another spray. I know the picture quality isn’t great but based on this can anyone advise if they’re aphids, white flies, or thrips? Never had any of those before so not sure best way to treat🫣😖😰

What exactly am I suppose to do? Is using insecticidal soap enough? Is there more I’ll need to do?

if you wanna get to know nematodes and predatory mites and possibly get rid of pests once and for all check out natures good guys website and plantsbymelissa on yt has a good video of a two month journey getting rid of thrips with beneficial insects. act fast though, they do spread fast since they can fly 😓

Thrips. They spread fast. Isolate the plant to prevent spreading them. Check the other plants in the room. Reapply the insecticidal soap in about two weeks. Disinfect hands and tools are after handling all plants. Good Luck.

Systemic granules worked pretty fast for me. I know some ppl don’t like using it. But it was a lifesaver for me

Ahhh thanks everyone! The insecticidal soap seems to be working as I’m seeing less so I’ll stay consistent with that🤞🫣
