just bought this Monstera Albo and it has these white dots in the soil. Are they bug/pest eggs?

What happens when you squish one? Does it bounce back or is it gooey inside them. If it bounces back it could be styrofoam. Gooey means likely eggs. If it’s powdery could be slow release fertilizer.

they’re suuuper small (this is 3 of the white balls next to a US quarter). When I squished it it didn’t seem to be gooey but also they were so small I couldn’t tell properly

Is it perlite?

The big chunks are perlite but I’m not sure what these little white balls are -

someone on Reddit had an issue that looked similar to mine (I attached an image of THEIR post… ) and people said it was fungi (leucocoprinus birnbaumii sclerotia) that shouldn’t harm the plant!

That picture is a fungus. It's not harmful. But I'd scrape it off, just so your plant isn't in competition

oo okay will do! thank you 😄
