# I picked this plant up a couple of weeks ago and I’ve noticed a lot…

I picked this plant up a couple of weeks ago and I’ve noticed a lot of this white stuff on it. Is this some kinds of pest or fungus? Pollination? It’s falling off the plant and getting all over the top of my book case. Also, any idea what kind of plant it is? Thanks!

These are mealy bugs.

Definitely!😬 They spread fast. Dab with alcohol swabs if only a few. It burns and dries them out. Spray with insecticidal soap or neem oil to suffocate them. Isolate the plant. Disinfectant tools. Wash hands frequently and wear gloves. The littlest ones are easily transported to other plants. Good luck!🍀 🪴

Thanks! It appears to be infested with them. It’s now outside and sprayed down with insecticide. Hopefully that takes care of them.

Yes, these are mealy bugs. you will need to isolate the plant and treat with neem oil
