Hello all! I downloaded planta to get help with my Dumb Cane. I first got it I'm a florist's surprise bowl from my grandma. She relieved it as a gift at my grandma's funeral, so I'm obviously desperate to keep it alive and have it grow. It's got 3 stalks with almost no leaves and one stalk with none (the thickest stalk... go figure). I just reported it in a combo of the soil I had on hand, (sand, perlite, potting mix, cactus mix) to have something well draining and chunky as I read online, this repot is new but I've had the plant for months with no new growth. It was in plain basic potting mix before. And lives under a grow light. No root rot. Do you think this repot will help or do I need to do more? The big stalk has been working on that node nub for a month...

Have you fertilized it?

I did a fertilizer stick 2 months ago. Put a half 1 in now and every other water uses blonde brand african violet food. Though I only started the liquid fertilizer 2 weeks ago and have watered once in between then and now. But that's the plan.

I know the humidity in the house is bad if the new humidifier is accurate. But that's a wip to keep it up more.

Yeah I put up a plastic zip wall between my sunroom and my kitchen and that is helped with the humidity level in my plant room so much

Mine was growing tall it's about three and a half years old I'd say and I didn't want it for a minute I guess and it dropped and then I brought it back my watering it and doing it fertilizer but it's not standing up tall anymore it's more wide I'm thinking of putting lattice or something in it to help hold it up IDK what to do it's probably four plants by now 😩

They do need regular fertilizer. But can also be sensitive to tap water.

That's useful to know. I'll try doing distilled water for it and see how that goes.
