# What’s going on with my Golden pothos? Please help! For some context,…

What’s going on with my Golden pothos? Please help!

For some context, I’ve had this plant for more than 3 years now and it’s indoors in an 8.5’ plastic pot with drainage. It had a thrips attack in the first year but recovered after a long battle. Recently, I’ve been noticing brown spots (as in the pictures) on mostly older leaves and got rid of them, as I was worried it would spread to the newer leaves.
I’ve been watering it regularly when the top layer is dry and use osmocote every 6 months. I’ve about 17 plants in total and see no pest activity on pothos (or others), except for these spots. Have a humidifier running for added humidity. Any ideas on what this is?

it’s like some kind of fungus . Pothos do prefer to have soil dry out before watering . You can do cuttings or wait out the long game and see how it goes

Thanks you and appreciate the tip! I’ve been watering it every 20 days on an average in winter, based on how dry the soil felt but probably should’ve waited a lil longer.

I had the same issue where i was overwatering it and fungus came on the leaves so I literally cut the leaves off just leaving stems and waited for the new leaves on the stems to grow. Not the best idea as they took a while to grow back but no fungus now.

Some of mine are doing this right now too. I cut some of them off but will cut the rest off tomorrow. I’ll check back to see if anyone else responds too.

I’ve got rid of all the infected leaves as well and plan to spray with neem oil this week. I hope your’s gets better 🤞🏻

How is yours doing? Mine seems to be doing ok I didn’t cut all of them off I left some that weren’t to bad and it seems to be doing ok at the moment.

Glad that it’s doing ok!
I removed most of the infected leaves on mine and sprayed it down with neem oil, castile soap and baking soda. It seems to be doing fine so far.
