# i just got a snake plant a d i saw a bug. i think it was a mealy bug…

i just got a snake plant a d i saw a bug. i think it was a mealy bug but i’m not 100% sure. i put it outside away from other plant but i’m too afraid to touch/ look at it. any tips on getting rid of them

i can’t find the bug. i just checked and i think it’s in like a tiny crevice cause i heard that they like to hide

Well, if you can’t find it, it’s probably not a mealybug since they don’t move

Shower, pesticide, quarantine (1 to 2 weeks). That’s how I usually deal with any potential pest related problem I detect on my plants 🤣 No matter tiny the problem it might seem. My babies are clustering together the risk is just too high for me🥹

Dab it with a cotton swab covered in isopropyl alcohol when it comes out of the crevice to spread babies. Spray the crevices with insecticidal soap or diluted alcohol solution. Mealybugs multiply very quickly.
