Haaaalp! Is this the dreaded “Damping Off” disease?

My parlor palm has been upset lately and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why. Some of stalks have been easily pulling or falling out. Today, I noticed this white fuzz at the base of some the roots. Could it be the damping off fuzz? If so, how do I go about treating it, or is it a loss?

Hi there, I think your soil looks like it’s holding way too much water. Parlour palms like to dry out between watering and don’t like to have “wet feet”. I would prioritise repotting this palm into a well aerated substrate. For example you could do a simple mix of about 25% perlite and 75% good quality potting soil (so for every cup of perlite, use 3 cups of potting soil). You could also add chunky components like coco chips or orchid bark into the mix. Hope the repot helps your baby get back on track.

Completely agree! I would also check for rot when repotting.
