Possibly overwatered...

I’m still fairly new to this but, ZZ plants are like succulents and don’t typically require much water. You can unpot it and check its rhizomes and roots. They’re supposed to be like a hardish potato and help to store the water the ZZ needs.

Did you have those decorative rocks in the soil from the beginning, if so that’s what destroyed your plant after every watering. I’m sure that plant ended up with root rot. Rocks maybe be pretty for ascetics but they hold water and humidity.

Don’t know if you will be able to save this plant the greenery will not return.. the little potato looking things are called rhizomes which store water for the plant.. so if those rocks were there it destroyed the rhizomes in the plant

Thank you for the responses. I'll let her keep slowly dying for a bit, but I'm sure you guys are right and I killed her with the rocks and over watering. To be honest it was my ex's plant and I won't be too sad when it dies. Ending of an era lol.
