# Bought a grocery store basil. Watered it but didn’t transfer it to a…

Bought a grocery store basil. Watered it but didn’t transfer it to a pot yet. Within two days, all the leaves are drooping. It’s on our balcony which gets direct morning light and part shade for rest of day. Transferred it to terracotta pot with new soil today and watered again.

Looks like no drainage holes ( or over watering )

It could be several things including shock from the environmental changes like too much direct sun too soon and watering issues. Repotting immediately after it started struggling can damage roots adding additional stress. I would put a shade screen over it until it recovers to reduce the light intensity. It may be too far gone.
