Check the underside for pests.

Definitely check for pests like spider mites and thrips.

Leaves that turn translucent before degrading could have excess water in the cells (edema) that burst like a blister.

This could be an older leaf naturally dying off when newer leaves emerge.

this might be a stupid question but how do you check for pests? like do i just check the bottom of pot or actually take the plant out and look

Just do an inspection by carefully looking all over the plant including under the leaves. Use a magnifying glass if you have one. Look for fine spider webs indicating spider mites. Check the soil. No need to disturb the roots.
