Relatively new plant dad. I have a Pothos that has never had any issues for the past year.  
Now I have a couple blemishes. Is this just part of plant life or is it the beginning of something bigger?

Those are just some of your earlier leaves on the plant dropping off to grow more in the growing season. You will lose original leaves as the plant continue to push out new ones. However, if you are fertilizing make sure you don’t over due it.

Also these scars can also be a lack of fertilizing, mechanical damages from moving the plant if that leaf was unfurling. The leaves are very fragile so you have to be careful when handling your plant or it could be a fungal issue
