Hi everyone! I have 3ZZ plants I bought recently that were combined into one pot and they were really root bound. A few days ago I repotted them seperately and they started to yellow at the leaves like this:(( idk if I did something wrong. The roots did not look rotted so i don’t know if anyone knows what happened or how to fix it! I don’t want rhem to die:(

Probably just transplant shock. Give it some Roots stimulator or cactus fertilizer.

Thank you! Should I cut off the yellowing ?

Yes cut off the yellow leaves and get a wet paper towel and wipe down your leaves so they will be free to get photosynthesis…clip brown tips off as well. Did you plant the rhizomes deep enough and also Zz plants like to be in tight pots so make sure you didn’t repot in a pot too big

Yes clean the leaves and no do not cut the yellow leaves off until they are entirely yellow.

These are my ZZ plants and I still have them in their same pots I purchased them in which are self watering pots

Looking at your picture again you repotted in pots too big for the root ball and rhizome so when you water that plant is getting overwatered now because the rhizome( the little potato looking ball) they store water for a long time for the ZZ plants that’s why you don’t have to water them often. I only have to refill my self watering pot maybe once a month. Truthfully I would repot them back together or go down in pot size.. Zz plants enjoy being in a cramped space. You probably don’t need to repot until the roots are coming through the drainage holes or the rhizomes look like it’s about to burst out the pot.

I agree, the pots are too big. I think I would have left the three of them together in one small pot. That would still work if you choose to move them to smaller pots.
