I’ve noticed much more browning around the leaves of this peacock plant the past couple of weeks. It’s been in the same spot for a couple years. Any thoughts as to why it’s browning more now?

Calatheas can be very temperamental. I agree you should use distilled water. The edge Browning could also be from low humidity in addition to tap water additives. You can increase humidity with a small humidifier or a pebble tray. They also do not like to be overwatered or underwater as previously mentioned. Remember that overwatering is not giving your plant too much water but watering too often. It looks like your pot has drainage so water until water is running out the bottom and then maybe a little more. Let it drain 15 to 20 minutes and then replace it to its home. Never let it sit in the drained water. Then don't water it again until the soil is barely moist to the touch. Your soil should be a well draining variety. A good potting soil with added perlite or added orchid bark is good. Also, if you have gravel in the bottom of your pot, repot it and do not put gravel in the bottom. Contrary to the old belief that gravel aids drainage is false. Bright indirect light, and warmish temperatures 65 to 80°. Good luck.
