# Can anybody tell me is going on with my Fiddle Leaf Fig? It looks…

_Pubblicato da Buckolena il 2026-10-12_

Can anybody tell me is going on with my Fiddle Leaf Fig? It looks like some kind of pest has munched on it but I’ve never seen any kind of pest on it or any of my other plants. It is only this one specific leaf too. Anyone have any ideas?

Hmmm, that does look like something is munching on it but could it be environmental damage?

Unfortunately no because it is a strictly inside plant. It’s too cold here in the winter to survive so it stays inside and we don’t really allow any animals or bugs inside the house. 🤷‍♂️

Here’s what was eating my plant.

I’ll have to look more closely I guess.
Thank you!

That kind of damage would probably be from a caterpillar if it was an insect. The only other explanation would be if something like hooked into the leaf and ripped it

I just found a caterpillar yesterday morning chomping on my Calkins Gold. He was gorgeous but he had eaten all of one leaf and was halfway through a second in one night!!

Check on the underside of the leaves and along the stems and veins. Caterpillars are typically active in the evening too. You may have some luck searching with a black light in the evening.
