# Good morning Plantas: Just when I thought my Calathea was under…

Good morning Plantas:
Just when I thought my Calathea was under control, she woke up with spots on a lot of leaves. The burnt edges have seemed to subside but now this is progressing. Any tips/ideas that can help?
I’ve got humidifiers going, watering only after she’s nice and dry and drenching from the bottom up. Ughhh!
I set her outside each morning where the humidity in central FL is 1000% too! It’s a full time job taking care of her! 🤣

moving a plant from in and outside is very stressful to your plant and opens you up to lots of issues. this looks like a fungal problem 😬

Yikes! Really? They appear to do so much better each morning outside, but then it gets to be 100 degrees and the sun beats on the patio so I bring them back in around noon! 🥴
How do i treat it?

Yeah it sounds good in theory but it’s too much stress — especially if you have AC inside (and I hope you DO in central FL lol) the drastic humidity and temp changes are very stressful for the plant — best to let her adapt to your conditions inside.

There are a few treatments you can try, but I would definitely start by keeping her inside and reading up on the treatment method you’re most comfortable with. Some people use baking soda, you can also buy specific additives. I’ve never had to treat for fungal stuff so maybe someone else has a method they’ve used that works well.

I would think getting it out of that pot, sterilizing it, soaking the old soil out of the roots and getting fresh soil in is a good place to start

Would you believe I got back from the gym and the dots were almost gone??? 🥴🙃🤯🤣🤣🤣

Oh my gosh non no way?! Like are there any holes where the spots were? Maybe it was sun burn starting then 🤷🏼‍♀️

You can see the spots damaged the leaves but they lightened up a lot! Not sure what is happening but it’s not looking good despite the burning has slowed down and there are 3 new leaves coming in that look great! 😩💔

See how they lightened up? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am! I saw a small bug flying around, 😩 I’ll be watching it! Super hopeful I didn’t mess it up! 😭
