Ok Planta people, do your thing

What the heck is going on with my guy?!

The little dots all over the one section of leaves are new, the bigger dry part and bigger dark spot are there from when I got him.  
(Ignore the dust- I’ve not had a chance to clean him lol)

Hmmm the first photo looks like spider mite damage, using a phone flashlight do you see any tiny webbing or tiny round specks? The second photo just looks like mechanical damage

I found that my moms had spider mites after her having it for a very long time I did have to sacrifice a lot of the plant but have been doing insecticidal soaks to try to fix the issue and it is still growing
